Apply to be a Youth Peer Support Specialist

HEY! is building a Youth Peer Support Corps

Get paid to use your experience to help other youth and build a better Greater Cincinnati youth mental health system

you believe in the power of lived experience to transform the mental health system? HEY! is launching the Greater Cincinnati Youth Mental Health Corps to do just that.

Youth across our region have shared that they:

  • Often feel isolated in their mental health journey
  • Struggle to find relatable, culturally responsive support
  • Want guidance from people who understand their lived experiences

In partnership with Talbert House, we’re addressing this need by hiring 24 Certified Youth Peer Supporters. This opportunity is open to young adults, ages 18–30, who are passionate about supporting other young people on their mental health journey.

 Certified Youth Peer Supporters will:

  • Have lived experience with behavioral health, mental health, or justice systems
  • Provide one-on-one peer support
  • Offer behavioral health education and outreach
  • Help young people navigate mental health resources
  • Create safe, affirming spaces informed by their lived experience

This is a paid opportunity that includes training, certification, mentorship, and the chance to shape a more just and youth-led mental health system from the inside.

 Service begins September 1, 2025

Host sites include community organizations and mental health providers.

Let’s build a system that works with and for youth. Please share with anyone in your network who might be a strong fit — or consider applying if this speaks to you.
